Job summary

Doyle Security Services, Inc. is seeking a vigilant school security guard to protect students, staff and visitors on campus. The role requires patrolling facilities, enforcing access control, and maintaining situational awareness to prevent incidents.

Hours are Monday–Friday 0600-1400 with a starting pay of USD 19.50 per hour. Prior school experience and strong customer service skills are preferred to foster a safe learning environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Weekend availability is required.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Must be able to verbally de-escalate situations.
• Reliable transportation is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe secure environment for students, staff and guests inside the school.
• Establish and maintain good rapport with parents, students, staff and community members.
• Prior School experience preferred.
• Ensure safety and efficient reporting.
• Monitor hallways, stairwells, toilet facilities, outside facilities, and other public areas to ensure safety and security.
• Assist with fire drills, crises and other emergency building evacuations and situations.
• Assist administrators and staff in crisis and emergency situations.
• Ensure smooth traffic flow of students through hallways and arrival to class and assigned locations.
• Supervise and direct student movement during arrival and dismissal.
• Update security records, logs, and reports.
• Ensure all doors and gates are locked and alarms engaged at designated times.
• Assist staff and emergency personnel in handling emergencies and deescalating disruptive situations.
• Assist in daily operational duties as needed.

Overview

Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property and personnel. Makes periodic tours to check for irregularities. Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises. Work requires the ability to stand for the majority of workday.

Qualifications

• Must be available to work weekends
• Must have exceptional Customer Service Skills
