Job summary

Doyle Security Services, Inc. is seeking a School Security Attendant to observe and report activities at an assigned client site, providing safety for students, staff and visitors.

The role requires standing for most of the workday and delivering reliable security services during the 1400-2100 shift. Responsibilities include monitoring facilities, conducting drills, maintaining calm under crises, reporting incidents, and ensuring doors/alarms are secured.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid NYS Security Guard License.
• Must be available to work weekends.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Must be able to verbally de-escalate situations.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe secure environment for students, staff and guests inside the school.
• Establish and maintain good rapport with parents, students, staff and community members.
• Prior School experience preferred.
• Ensure safety and efficient reporting:
• Monitor hallways, stairwells, toilet facilities, outside facilities, and other public and unsupervised places of the school to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff and the security of the facility.
• Assist with fire drills, crises and other emergency building evacuations and situations.
• Assist administrators and staff in crisis and emergency situations.
• Ensure a smooth traffic flow of students through the hallways, assisting students with on-time arrival to class and to assigned locations.
• Supervise and direct student movement during arrival and dismissal.
• Update security records, logs, and reports.
• Ensure all doors and gates are locked and that all alarms are engaged at designated times.
• Assist staff and emergency personnel in handling emergencies and deescalating disruptive situations that may arise on campus.
• Assist in daily operational duties as needed.

Overview

Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property and personnel. Makes periodic tours to check for irregularities. Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises. Work requires the ability to stand for the majority of workday.

Schedule

Monday-Friday 1400-2100

Pay Range

Up to USD $19.50/Hr.
