Job summary

Allied Universal in New York, NY is seeking a Security Officer (Full Time, Unarmed Patrol) to protect people and property. You will patrol assigned areas, deter incidents, and deliver courteous service to residents, staff, and visitors.

Requirements include NY State Security Guard License, at least 1 year security experience, high school diploma, background check, and a drug screen. A driver’s license is required for driving posts.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Possess at least one year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Background investigation required under federal/state/local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• A drug screen will be conducted where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements subject to state/local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and emergency response activities at a government facility serving individuals experiencing homelessness.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical concerns, and other critical situations in a calm, professional manner, following established protocols and contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, building entrances, common areas, and perimeter to identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or policy concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry when required, report unauthorized access or suspicious behavior to site leadership.
• Document incidents, patrols, observations, and communications accurately in required reports, logs, and site records.
