Job summary

Allied Universal in Washington, DC is seeking a Security Officer, Full Time Unarmed Patrol Services. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, deter security incidents, and provide courteous customer service to tenants and visitors.

Requirements include at least one year of security experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to obtain a guard card or license. The role pays $24.44 per hour and features a full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security‑related experience is required.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigations will be conducted per federal, state, and local laws.
• A drug screen may be required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be mandated by state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and/or property management personnel while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities at a commercial real estate location.
• Respond to incidents, tenant concerns, access issues, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of building interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, loading docks, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points, observe visitor and contractor activity, and report unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, or policy violations according to site procedures.
• Prepare clear, accurate activity and incident reports and maintain professional communication with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
