Job summary

Marksman Security Corporation is hiring unarmed security officers for full-time roles in Cedar Rapids. The job involves customer service, patrolling facilities, and responding to alarms and incidents. Weekend shifts may be required and training for Iowa security licensing is provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Able to obtain Iowa Security License including state training requirements.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs and performing rounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service on site and assist visitors with directions and information.
• Enforce site rules; warn/report violations.
• Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols to identify risks.
• Respond to alarms, emergencies, and incidents.
• Notify emergency services when needed.
• Prepare accurate incident reports promptly.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the security manager.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent Customer Service to all parties encountered while on duty, including assisting with directions and general business information.
• Enforce site rules by warning or reporting individuals violating regulations (e.g., loitering, smoking, carrying prohibited items).
• Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols to identify safety and security risks.
• Respond to alarms, emergency calls, and incidents involving unauthorized individuals, injuries, or fires.
• Notify appropriate emergency services (police, fire department, EMS) when necessary.
• Accurately complete and submit reports, records, and incident documentation in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the security manager.

Required Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Able to acquire and maintain a valid Iowa Security License, including state accredited training requirements
• Valid Driver's License
• Able to pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Able to meet physical essential functions of the job, which can include lifting 50+ lbs, completing foot patrols, walking up and down stairs, working in inclement weather

Preferred Qualifications

• Bi-lingual considered a plus.
• Weekend availability required
