Job Description:

Under general supervision, the employee is responsible for institutional and related security work of average difficulty and performs related work as required. An employee in this role may be assigned to work any shift to provide a full range of institutional and other security activities, such as protecting public buildings.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Assist in admissions by processing patients (e.g., screening with a metal detector, pat-downs) and reviewing/documenting patient belongings.
• Respond to calls and emergencies, including Code Situations.
• Control entrance and exit points by checking IDs, purpose of visit, and authorization; escort individuals for safety.
• Maintain records such as incident reports, vehicle citations, visitor logs, and property reports. Communicate security concerns to supervisors via telephone, written reports, email, or in person.
• Coordinate with law enforcement agencies to report incidents and request assistance. Patrol facilities, monitor alarms, and utilize audiovisual and security systems to identify hazards, disturbances, and violations.
• Monitor individuals to ensure safety and policy compliance.
• Operate patrol and transport vehicles for security patrols or valuables/individual transport. Use two-way radios and other communication devices to perform security tasks.
