Job summary

Allied Universal’s Security Guard Unarmed Patrol Driver in San Jose, CA protects clients across Retail/Malls and other sites by performing routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence, and delivering outstanding customer service.

This full‑time driving role requires a valid driver's license, a high school diploma, and the ability to lift up to 20 pounds. The schedule includes day shifts with overnight components, offering opportunities to grow within a dynamic, supportive workplace.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, visitors, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and critical events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail property, including common areas, storefront corridors, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter locations, to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, observe site activity, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations according to site procedures.
• Complete accurate incident reports, daily activity reports, and other required documentation while maintaining professional communication with Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.
