Job summary

Johns Hopkins Public Safety is seeking an unarmed University Special Police Officer for evenings (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM) at the Hopkins Bloomberg Center in Washington, DC. Responsibilities include patrols, CCTV monitoring, incident investigations, and facilitating safety education for the Johns Hopkins University community.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, 2 years of experience, background checks, and the ability to pass police requirements and gun qualification courses.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years work experience; Maryland State Police requirements met.
• Must pass background checks, health screening, and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Take preventative measures against accidents, thefts, and other risks.
• Provide crime prevention training and education to the JHU community.
• Investigate incidents and prepare written reports.
• Conduct foot patrols and monitor CCTV/alarm systems.
• Liaise with law enforcement and testify when required.
