Responsibilities

  • Provide Event Setup Support in all event spaces meeting rooms and other spaces throughout the UMC.
  • Set up tables and chairs, risers, pipe and drapes; removal of existing furniture; reset rooms; trash disposal; and AV/PA support as needed.
  • Prioritize daily work assignments, make adjustments to setup requests when needed, and decide what equipment to use to complete the tasks.
  • Daily Cleaning and Maintenance: clean and maintain meeting and banquet spaces daily; mop; vacuum; shampoo carpets; empty trash.
  • Cleaning and Maintaining Offices and Exterior Areas: clean and maintain offices and exterior areas daily; vacuum carpets; empty trash; power wash sidewalks and building walls as needed.
  • Customer Support: work with customers to fine tune setups and ensure setups meet their needs.
  • Annual Cleaning and Maintenance: perform major floor and facility maintenance during breaks; shampoo carpets; strip, reseal, wax floors; clean windows/walls; inspect furniture.
  • Moving Services: move offices and equipment as needed.
  • Other Duties: snow removal and general equipment maintenance.

Job Summary

The University Memorial Center (UMC) at the UniversityofColorado, Boulder is seeking applicants for a Setup TeamMember! This position provides setup support for the manylectures, meetings, banquets, and conferences that take place inthe UMC. Included in this support is providing setups that meet theindividual customer specific requirements. This includes setting upof tables, chairs, pipe and drape, mobile staging units as well ascleaning and maintaining event spaces daily. Position also providesgeneral cleaning of offices, common areas and outdoor spacesassociated with the UMC. Position may also be called upon to assistwith the setup of some basic AV equipment, office moves and annualcleaning projects, room and equipment maintenance, and other dutiesas assigned throughout the UMC.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Provide Event Setup Support
  • Provide timely and proper setup support per customer requests in all event spaces meeting rooms, and other spaces throughout theUMC;
  • Set up tables and chairs, risers, pipe and drapes; removal of existing furniture; reset rooms; trash disposal; and AV/PA support as needed;
  • Prioritize daily work assignments, make adjustments to setup requests when needed, and decide what equipment to use to complete the tasks.
Daily Cleaning and Maintenance
  • Provide clean well-maintained meeting and banquet space dailyto the customers of the UMC;
  • Mop and dust-mop; scrub banquet floors; vacuum; shampoocarpets; and keep furniture clean and well maintained;
  • Empty trash receptacles before and after events.
Cleaning and Maintaining Offices and Exterior Areas
  • Clean and maintain offices and exterior areas of the UMCdaily;
  • Offices: vacuum and shampoo carpets; empty trash receptacles;mop and dust mopping; clean walls and light fixtures;
  • Exterior of Building: perform daily inspections of spaces;empty trash receptacles; sweep sidewalks; power wash walk ways andbuilding walls as needed.
Customer Support
  • Work directly with customers to fine tune setups and makechanges as needed;
  • Assist customers with their requests and ensure the setup meetstheir needs.
Annual Cleaning and Maintenance
  • Perform major floor and facility maintenance during breaks inthe academic schedule;
  • Shampoo carpets; strip, reseal, and wax floors throughout thebuilding;
  • Clean windows and walls; inspect furniture for repairs; deepclean event spaces; and organize equipment.
Moving Services
  • Perform moving functions for offices, equipment, andfurniture;
  • Move heavy equipment, desks, stone tables, furniture, woodsupplies as needed.
Other Duties
  • Snow removal from sidewalks during winter months;
  • General equipment maintenance and repair;
  • Replace lights throughout building.
What You Should Know
  • The anticipated work schedule for this position is from Tuesday- Saturday, 12:30pm - 9pm.
