Job summary

Zurich Insurance Company Ltd. seeks an Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter for Umbrella Excess Casualty on the National Accounts Large Property Underwriting team in Dallas. Hybrid work arrangement with in-office/market presence three days a week.

Role focuses on underwriting new/renewal business within delegated authority, building strong broker relationships and market visibility. Prior P&C underwriting experience and strong office tools skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 3+ years in underwriting/market facing area OR Zurich Apprenticeship with Associate Degree and 1+ years in underwriting/market facing area OR 4+ years in underwriting support/claims.
• Knowledge of lines of business and regulatory guidelines.
• Experience with time restraints for quotes on new/renewal business as well as Microsoft Office usage.

Responsibilities

• Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities.
• Conduct opportunity assessments with key distributors to identify growth.
• Qualify accounts to match appetite with business opportunity.
• Make strategic agent/broker/customer visits with prepared purpose.
• Negotiate terms and close deals.
• Cross-sell additional lines to increase account density.
• Engage in target account process 90–120 days prior to effective date.
• Update broker/client visit records and account status in systems.
