Job summary

Atrium Health's High Point Main Cardiology: Vascular Laboratory is hiring a full-time vascular sonographer to perform basic vascular ultrasound exams and provide preliminary reports to physicians.

Requirements: graduate of a CAAHEP vascular sonography program or RVT/RVS credentials, plus BLS. Schedule is Mon-Fri, 8-5, at High Point Medical Center, High Point, NC. Sign-On bonus and relocation assistance may be available. Includes comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAAHEP vascular sonography program or comparable RVT/RVS credentials.
• New graduates must obtain RVT or RVS credential within one year of hire.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician orders and reviews patient records prior to exams.
• Performs basic vascular ultrasound testing according to protocols.
• Documents findings and provides detailed preliminary reports to physicians.
• Enters measurement data and final report into the cardiovascular reporting system.
• Ensures equipment is cleaned and functioning per manufacturer guidelines.
• Enters charges into the electronic medical record.

Position Highlights

• Sign-On Bonus: $15,000 sign-on bonus ($10,000 for New Graduates), provided the candidate meets the eligibility requirements

Essential Functions

• Verifies physician's orders and reviews patient record prior to exam.
• Performs basic vascular ultrasound testing according to accredited vascular laboratory protocols, ensures patient comfort throughout exam.
• Recognizes and documents abnormal pathologies according to imaging protocol's as necessary to support diagnosis.
• Provides physician detailed preliminary report.
• Enters measurement data and final report into cardiovascular reporting system
• Ensures equipment is cleaned and functioning in accordance with manufactures guidelines.
• Enters charges into electronic medical record.

Physical Requirements

This position requires light to moderate physical effort with lifting and moving patients, equipment and supplies. Requires sitting, standing reaching, bending, pushing and pulling. Intact sense of sight and hearing required.

Education, Experience And Certifications

Graduate of CAAHEP vascular sonography program/or comparable experience with RVT or RVS credentials required. New graduates must obtain RVT or RVS credential within one year of hire. BLS certification required. Competencies in: ABI, Arterial Doppler (no intervention) Carotid (no intervention) Aortic ( no intervention) , Saphenous vein mapping, Exercise ABI, DVT Upper/ Lower extremity required.
