Clearview Cancer Institute is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform diagnostic ultrasound imaging in a busy oncology/hematology/radiology clinic. You will prepare equipment, explain procedures to patients, and position them for optimal imaging.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare equipment for ultrasound imaging procedures.
  • Explain procedures to patients and ensure proper prep.
  • Position patients to image the necessary body parts.
  • Acquire complete ultrasound images and transfer to PACS.
  • Verify images are received in PACS and prior studies accessible.
  • Maintain real-time documentation of each exam.
  • Perform scheduled QC on imaging equipment per manufacturer requirements.
  • Identify equipment or workflow issues and notify supervisors.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures.

We are looking for talented and highly-motivated individuals who demonstrate a natural desire to support the meaningful work of community oncologists and the patients we serve.Job Description:Job PurposeThe purpose of the Ultrasound Technologist is to use ultrasound technology to create diagnostic images of patients’ bodies. Ultrasound technologists work with specialized equipment for the purpose of tracking health issues. They then work with physicians to determine what the scans indicate regarding a patient’s condition.Essential Job FunctionsPrepare equipment for imaging procedures.Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring that patient has followed the appropriate prep instructions.Position patients so that the necessary parts of the body can be imaged properly.Ensure that all necessary images are obtained and transfer those images to the PACS.Verify that images were received in PACS and verify that all previous studies are available in PACS.Maintain real-time documentation related to patient’s exams.Perform scheduled imaging equipment QC per manufacturer’s requirements.Identify problems with ultrasound and notify necessary people.Assume responsibility for the safety and comfort of patients before, during, and after the procedures.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsMust be sensitive to patient’s needs and situation.Must be able to handle high stress situations.Must be able to complete tasks in a timely manner.Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.Education/ExperienceMust have an associate degree in Ultrasound Technology or other sonography related field.Must be registered in Ultrasound Technology by ARRT or ARDMS.Working conditionsThis position works in the imaging department of a busy oncology/hematology/radiation/urology clinic. This person has direct contact with patients, some of whom are very ill.Physical requirementsThis position requires that the employee be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, up to eight hours a day. This position also requires that the employee be able to lift and/or turn disabled patients.Direct reportsThis position is not a supervisory position.
