Job summary

CommonSpirit Health seeks an Ultrasound Technologist (Sonographer) for Mercy Hospital Bakersfield, CA. You will operate advanced sonographic equipment to capture detailed images of blood, organs, tissues, and fetal anatomy for diagnostic use.

You will explain procedures to patients, ensure their safety and comfort, and present findings to physicians. Strong communication, meticulous technique, and clinical judgement are essential for accurate imaging and patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of sonography.
• BLS/CPR certification required upon hire.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or related registry upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs digital, color and duplex scanning.
• Selects transducer, frequency and diameter for the examination.
• Performs emergency bedside exams and provides preliminary interpretations to Radiologist.
