The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Obstetrician & Gynecologist (OBGYN) has an exciting opportunity for an Ultrasound Technologist – Per Diem to work in Miami, FL.

Performs routine and specialty sonographic procedures with attention to diagnostic quality under the supervision of a Radiologist, while maintaining patient comfort and safety. The role includes equipment care, chart review, and collaboration with physicians and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
• Certification in relevant specialty or field.
• Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
• Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
• Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
• Commitment to the University’s core values.

• Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office).

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and specialty sonographic procedures in cases involving all levels of difficulty.
• Performs complex specialized tasks with ultrasound scanners under supervision of a Radiologist.
• Ensures diagnostic quality of scans through knowledge of ultrasound techniques and pitfalls.
• Makes preliminary interpretations to alert physicians of suspected pathology.
• Checks charts and gathers pertinent clinical information.
• Assists physicians in invasive and special procedures.
• Greets and supports patients, explains procedures, and answers questions.
• Maintains equipment and conducts quality assurance tests.
• Triages and trains coworkers, students, residents, and visitors.
• Participates in quality improvement and adheres to safety standards.
