Job summary

BMCHS is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist in the OB/GYN department. This part-time/per diem role involves performing diagnostic ultrasound exams, preparing patients, and assisting physicians with procedures.

The candidate will uphold infection control and safety standards while maintaining high-quality imaging and timely study completion. The position requires ARDMS certification (OB/AB/RVT) with RDMS eligibility within one year, and a strong emphasis on patient care and collaborative team

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in diagnostic medical sonography must be obtained prior to hire.
• Completion of two years of post-high school training in an approved school of radiologic technology.
• ARDMS certification (OB/AB/RVT) required; RDMS must be obtained within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs a wide variety of ultrasound exams and assists physicians during invasive procedures as needed.
• Prepares exam rooms and ultrasound equipment following infection control and patient safety policies.
• Completes exams timely with quality scans for Radiology and outside departments.
• Ensures patient comfort and modesty; maintains safety during exams.
• Maintains and disinfects equipment; ensures proper documentation and billing per hospital procedures.
• Operates PACS, RIS, Epic and related systems; supports department Mgt and lead technologist.
