The role requires operating advanced 2-D/3-D and Doppler ultrasound equipment, ensuring diagnosis quality, and assisting physicians in invasive procedures. Strong attention to detail, discretion, and teamwork are essential to patient care and department operations.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and specialty sonographic procedures with varying levels of difficulty.
• Operates complex ultrasound equipment including 2-D, 3-D, color, and Doppler modalities.
• Ensures quality of scans by applying ultrasound techniques and recognizing potential pathology.
• Communicates preliminary findings to physicians when appropriate.
• Gathers clinical information from charts and EMR to guide procedures.
• Assists physicians in invasive and special procedures as required.
• Explains procedures to patients and prepares them for exams.
• Maintains equipment cleanliness and performs basic QA checks.
• Trains students, residents, and staff in ultrasound protocols.
• Contributes to quality improvement initiatives and safety standards.
