Job summary

Bright Light Medical Imaging in Arlington Heights, IL is seeking a part-time Ultrasound Technologist to join our physician-led imaging team. You will document patient history, sterilize equipment, position patients, and ensure safe, comfortable procedures.

You will perform abdomen/small parts, OB/GYN, vascular studies, and assist with breast imaging when needed. ARDMS or RVT certification and CPR-BLS are required; on-site Saturday shifts available.

Qualifications

• ARDMS and/or RVT certification is required.
• Proficiency running advanced ultrasound studies independently.
• Experience in Abdomen/Small Parts, OB/GYN and Vascular is preferred.
• Breast imaging experience is a plus.
• CPR-BLS Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Document patient's medical history prior to examinations.
• Sterilize and maintain ultrasound equipment.
• Position patients to obtain correct imaging and ensure comfort and safety.
• Record data in the patient's chart and communicate results to staff.
• Provide education and direction to technologists as needed.
• Perform ultrasound imaging procedures efficiently according to department standards.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Ultrasound Technologist, Part Time

Location: Onsite Arlington Heights

Days/Hours: Saturday 8am-4:30pm or 5pm

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Document patient's medical history prior to any examination
• Sterilize and maintain ultrasound equipment
• Gain patient cooperation by calming anxieties, providing explanation of imaging process and addressing any questions or concerns
• Carefully position patients in order to obtain correct imaging
• Responsibly ensure patient is comfortable and safe throughout their experience
• Maintains cleanliness of rooms and adequate stock of supplies
• Use sonographic skills to identify, record and adapt procedures
• Document ultrasound services by accurately recording data in the patient's chart
• Effectively communicate medical data, patient history and any related information to staff and appropriate physician
• Provide education, training and direction to new technologists
• Perform all job related functions as a Ultrasound Technologist, including all Ultrasound imaging procedures according to department standard in a timely and efficient manner
  
• Perform all other duties as assigned
• Frequent lifting/movement of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance without assistance
• Must be able to stand, stoop, lift and walk without restrictions

• Technical, extensive knowledge and skilled expertise in ultrasound technology
• Ability to integrate diagnostic sonograms, laboratory results, and medical histories to adapt sonographic examinations as necessary

• Interpersonal skills, patient focused attitude with passion and sensitivity towards their care
  

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:

• ARDMS and/or RVT registered with prior clinical ultrasound experience
  
• Proficiency running advanced Ultrasound studies independently
• Proficient in Abdomen/Small Parts,OB/GYN, Vascular
• Experience in Breasts, preferred
• CPR-BLS Certification
