Job summary

Bright Light Medical Imaging is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist for a part-time Saturday schedule at our Arlington Heights site. The role requires ARDMS/RVT registration and proficiency in abdomen/small parts, OB/GYN and vascular imaging.

CPR-BLS certification is required, with opportunities to train and mentor new technologists. The position emphasizes patient comfort and safety, accurate documentation, and collaboration with the care team to ensure high-quality imaging and timely results.

Qualifications

• ARDMS and/or RVT registration with clinical ultrasound experience.
• Proficient in Abdomen/Small Parts, OB/GYN, Vascular; breasts preferred.
• CPR-BLS certification and ongoing competency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Document patient's medical history prior to examination.
• Sterilize and maintain ultrasound equipment.
• Gain patient cooperation by calming anxieties and explaining the imaging process.
• Position patients to obtain correct imaging.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
• Maintain cleanliness of rooms and supplies.
• Use sonographic skills to identify, record and adapt procedures.
• Record ultrasound data in the patient's chart.
• Communicate medical data and patient history to staff and physicians.
• Provide education, training and direction to new technologists.
• Perform all ultrasound imaging procedures in a timely and efficient manner.

Ultrasound Technologist, Part Time Saturdays

Location: Onsite, Arlington Heights, Illinois

Employment Type: Part‑Time

Minimum Experience: Experienced

Compensation: $38.00-$45.00 /per hour

Department: Technologists

Overview Of Key Responsibilities:

• Document patient's medical history prior to any examination
• Sterilize and maintain ultrasound equipment
• Gain patient cooperation by calming anxieties, providing explanation of imaging process and addressing any questions or concerns
• Carefully position patients in order to obtain correct imaging
• Responsibly ensure patient is comfortable and safe throughout their experience
• Maintains cleanliness of rooms and adequate stock of supplies
• Use sonographic skills to identify, record and adapt procedures
• Document ultrasound services by accurately recording data in the patient's chart
• Effectively communicate medical data, patient history and any related information to staff and appropriate physician
• Provide education, training and direction to new technologists
• Perform all job related functions as a Ultrasound Technologist, including all Ultrasound imaging procedures according to department standard in a timely and efficient manner
• Perform all other duties as assigned
• Frequent lifting/movement of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance without assistance
• Must be able to stand, stoop, lift and walk without restrictions

Education, Experience & Requirements:

• ARDMS and/or RVT registered with prior clinical ultrasound experience
• Proficiency running advanced Ultrasound studies independently
• Proficient in Abdomen/Small Parts,OB/GYN, Vascular
• Experience in Breasts, preferred
• CPR-BLS Certification
