Job summary

Bright Light Medical Imaging in Bedford Park, IL seeks an Ultrasound Technologist for a full-time onsite role. You will perform ultrasound exams across abdomen, OB/GYN, vascular and breast imaging, while ensuring patient comfort and accurate documentation.

Qualified candidates hold ARDMS/RVT credentials and have experience with advanced ultrasound studies. CPR-BLS certification is required. Expect a collaborative, patient-centered environment with ongoing training.

Qualifications

• ARDMS and/or RVT registration with prior clinical ultrasound experience.
• Proficiency running advanced Ultrasound studies independently.
• Proficient in Abdomen/Small Parts, OB/GYN, Vascular, Breasts.

Responsibilities

• Document patient's medical history prior to any examination.
• Sterilize and maintain ultrasound equipment.
• Gain patient cooperation by calming anxieties and explaining imaging process.
• Position patients to obtain correct imaging.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the exam.
• Maintain cleanliness and stock of supplies in the room.
• Record data in patient charts and document ultrasound services.
• Communicate findings to staff and physicians clearly.
• Provide education and direction to new technologists.

What We Are Looking For:

Ultrasound Technologist, Full Time

Location: Onsite Bedford Park

Days/Hours: Monday -Thursday, Hours vary between 7:00 am - 7:30 pm

Overview Of Key Responsibilities:

• Document patient's medical history prior to any examination
• Sterilize and maintain ultrasound equipment
• Gain patient cooperation by calming anxieties, providing explanation of imaging process and addressing any questions or concerns
• Carefully position patients in order to obtain correct imaging
• Responsibly ensure patient is comfortable and safe throughout their experience
• Maintains cleanliness of rooms and adequate stock of supplies
• Use sonographic skills to identify, record and adapt procedures
• Document ultrasound services by accurately recording data in the patient’s chart
• Effectively communicate medical data, patient history and any related information to staff and appropriate physician
• Provide education, training and direction to new technologists
• Perform all job related functions as an Ultrasound Technologist, including all Ultrasound imaging procedures according to department standard in a timely and efficient manner
• Perform all other duties as assigned
• Frequent lifting/movement of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance without assistance
• Must be able to stand, stoop, lift and walk without restrictions

Qualities You Should Possess:

• Quick, accurate decision making
• Ability to perform effectively under stressful situations, working in fast-paced environment
• Exceptional attention to detail, highly organized
• Technical, extensive knowledge and skilled expertise in ultrasound technology
• Ability to integrate diagnostic sonograms, laboratory results, and medical histories to adapt sonographic examinations as necessary
• Effective, composed communication to address patient’s questions
• Interpersonal skills, patient focused attitude with passion and sensitivity towards their care

Education, Experience & Requirements:

• ARDMS and/or RVT registered with prior clinical ultrasound experience
• Proficiency running advanced Ultrasound studies independently
• Proficient in Abdomen/Small Parts, OB/GYN, Vascular
• Experience in Breasts
• CPR-BLS Certification
