Job summary

Bright Light Medical Imaging in Bedford Park seeks an Ultrasound Technologist for a full-time onsite role. You will document patient history, sterilize equipment, calm patients, and position them to obtain quality images, ensuring comfort and safety.

The ideal candidate is ARDMS/RVT registered with ultrasound experience, proficient in Abdomen/Small Parts, OB/GYN, Vascular, and Breast imaging, and CPR-BLS certified. You will train new technologists and support in a fast-paced, team-driven setting.

Qualifications

• ARDMS and/or RVT registration with prior ultrasound experience.
• Proficiency running advanced Ultrasound studies independently.
• Proficient in Abdomen/Small Parts, OB/GYN, Vascular.
• Experience in Breasts ultrasound.
• CPR-BLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Document patient's medical history prior to any examination
• Sterilize and maintain ultrasound equipment
• Calm anxieties, explain imaging process and address questions
• Position patients to obtain correct imaging
• Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the experience
• Maintain cleanliness of rooms and stock of supplies
• Use sonographic skills to identify and record data
• Document ultrasound services in patient chart
• Communicate medical data to staff and physician
• Provide education and direction to new technologists
• Perform all ultrasound procedures in a timely and efficient manner
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs
• Stand, stoop, lift and walk without restrictions

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Ultrasound Technologist, Full Time

Location: Onsite Bedford Park

Days/Hours: Monday -Thursday, Hours vary between 7:00 am - 7:30 pm

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Document patient's medical history prior to any examination
• Sterilize and maintain ultrasound equipment
• Gain patient cooperation by calming anxieties, providing explanation of imaging process and addressing any questions or concerns
• Carefully position patients in order to obtain correct imaging
• Responsibly ensure patient is comfortable and safe throughout their experience
• Maintains cleanliness of rooms and adequate stock of supplies
• Use sonographic skills to identify, record and adapt procedures
• Document ultrasound services by accurately recording data in the patient's chart
• Effectively communicate medical data, patient history and any related information to staff and appropriate physician
• Provide education, training and direction to new technologists
• Perform all job related functions as a Ultrasound Technologist, including all Ultrasound imaging procedures according to department standard in a timely and efficient manner
• Perform all other duties as assigned
• Frequent lifting/movement of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance without assistance
• Must be able to stand, stoop, lift and walk without restrictions

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:

• ARDMS and/or RVT registered with prior clinical ultrasound experience
• Proficiency running advanced Ultrasound studies independently
• Proficient in Abdomen/Small Parts, OB/GYN, Vascular
• Experience in Breasts
• CPR-BLS Certification
