Job summary

Essential Responsibilities

• Ensure proper patient identity by checking two forms of identification per hospital policy and confirming physician orders.
• Attend and complete all mandatory meetings, in‑services, and assigned continuing education.
• Complete and maintain departmental competency checklists.
• Effectively utilize resources and time.
• Identify and report issues and concerns to effectively solve problems.
• Show interest and actively participate in Process Improvement projects, both departmentally and hospital wide.
• Collaborate with others in a team environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Act in accordance with the established mission, vision, and values.
• Abide by HIPAA privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).
• Maintain effective communication and professional working relationships with patients, team members, physicians, and the public.

General Responsibilities

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associates degree from a two‑year college or technical school in Ultrasound or higher.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) and RVT registration within 6 months of hire.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card within 30 days of hire or by the end of orientation.
• Acceptable courses: American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year clinical experience post‑graduation.

• Thorough knowledge of ultrasound diagnostic techniques, treatment, and education.
• Strong skills in using software such as Excel, Word, and EMR systems.
• Medical terminology.
• Superb organization skills, follow‑through, and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

Light work: occasionally lifting up to 25 lbs and frequently up to 10 lbs. Approximately 11‑25% of the day may be standing or walking.
