Job summary

Hutchinson Regional Medical Center is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist III - PRN to perform ultrasound studies and ensure quality patient care. This role requires an Associate's degree, RDMS certification, and a current BLS card. You will work closely with physicians and patients to deliver excellent care.

Ultrasound Technologist III - PRN

Essential Responsibilities

• Performs studies accurately and efficiently to meet established turn‑around times.
• Prepares reports for physician interpretation and ensures quality images are available for interpretation.
• Provides age‑appropriate care, anticipates patient/family needs, comfort and safety, and assists with exceeding customer expectations.
• Experience performing abdominal, obstetrical, gynecological, pediatric, small parts, and vascular studies.
• Participates with patient transportation.
• Assists with regulatory/accrediting agencies to ensure departmental compliance.
• Performs departmental surveys and quality control on equipment and reports variances for service.
• Responds to on‑call coverage in a professional manner and is available within 1 hour.
• Acts in accordance with the established mission, vision, and values.
• Abides by HIPAA privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).
• Maintains effective communication and professional working relationships with patients/clients and their representatives, team members, contractors, physicians, peers, outside agencies, and the public.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate's degree from a two‑year college or technical school in Ultrasound or higher.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
• Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Vascular Sonography (VS) credentialed in Abdomen (AB) and OB/GYN.
• Current BLS card within 30 days of hire or by the end of orientation, whichever comes first.
• Acceptable courses are American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years clinical experience post‑graduation.
• Preferred license/certifications/registrations: none.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Thorough knowledge of ultrasound diagnostic techniques, treatment, and education.
• Strong skills in using software such as Excel, Word, EMR systems, etc.
• Medical terminology proficiency.
• Superb organization skills, follow‑through, and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

• Occasionally exert up to 25 lbs; frequently up to 10 lbs. 11‑25% of the day may be standing or walking.
