Job summary

Bright Light Medical Imaging in Arlington Heights seeks an MRI Technologist (full-time) to join a physician-led imaging team. The role supports patient safety, imaging procedures, and quality standards while collaborating with radiologists and staff.

Responsibilities include operating MRI equipment, pre-screening for implants, maintaining sterile rooms, and providing guidance to junior technologists. On-site at our Arlington Heights location with standard daytime hours.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited MRI certification program.
• ARRT/ARMRIT registered.
• Previous experience in diagnostic radiology/imaging setting.
• Proficiency running advanced MR studies independently.
• CPR-BLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintains current knowledge of MR technology and assists in quality control of equipment.
• Responsible for patient safety, including pre-screening for implants and researching any necessary clearance.
• Sterilize and maintain equipment, maintain cleanliness of rooms and keep adequate stock of supplies.
• Administration of aseptic injection technique for contrast.
• Address patient concerns during procedure and explain MRI procedure with tact and poise to obtain cooperation.
• Carefully position patients to obtain correct imaging.
• Document radiological services by recording data in patient charts.
• Provide education and direction to new technologists.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

MRI Technologist (Full-time)

Location: On-site Arlington Heights

Days/Hours: Monday, Tuesday & Friday , 6:00 am - 2:30 pm

Wednesday & Thursday 8:00 am- 4:30 pm

WHAT A TYPICAL DAY LOOKS LIKE:

• Maintains current knowledge of MR technology and assists in quality control of equipment
• Responsible for patient safety, including pre-screening for implants and researching any necessary clearance
• Sterilize and maintain equipment, maintains cleanliness or rooms and keeps adequate stock of supplies on hand
• Administration of aseptic injection technique for contrast
• Address patient concerns during procedure, and explain MRI procedure using tact, courtesy and poise to reduce anxiety to obtain patient cooperation
• Carefully position patients in order to obtain correct imaging
• Document radiological services by accurately recording data in the patient's chart
• Ensures quality standards are met and promotes continuous quality improvement
  
• Provide education, training and direction to new technologists
• According to department standards and protocols set by radiologist, perform all job related functions as a MRI Technologist, including all imaging procedures in a timely and efficient manner, and communicate related information to appropriate physician
• Perform all other duties as assigned
• Frequent lifting/carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance
• Must be able to stand, stoop, lift and walk without restrictions

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:
