Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform routine and specialized ultrasound examinations under radiologist direction. The role requires independent judgment to adapt procedures for diagnostic results and to maintain high quality patient care across all ages.

You will contribute to image quality, patient safety, and timely reporting. The position includes collaboration with the Medical Imaging department and opportunities within Carle Health’s broader radiology services.

Qualifications

• ARDMS certification within 1 year
• BLS certification within 30 days
• RVT-VT certification within 1 year

Responsibilities

• Performs ultrasound procedures accurately for patients of all ages.
• Images required views demonstrating anatomy and pathology.
• Prepare catheters, biopsy instruments and sterile trays as needed.
• Explain rationale for procedures to patients/families and obtain histories.
• Optimize image quality using appropriate transducers and machine settings.
• Evaluate finished images and submit to radiologists for interpretation.
• Maintain clean work area and stock supplies in the room.
• Support radiologist with biopsies and invasive procedures.
