Job summary

AdventHealth Daytona Beach is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams in our Outpatient Imaging department. This full-time Day shift requires verifying patient identity, obtaining clinical history, and properly positioning patients to ensure accurate imaging for radiologist interpretation.

You will document in EMR/PACS, follow infection control protocols, operate equipment safely, and collaborate with radiologists.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of ultrasound physics and anatomy to perform independent procedures to Radiologist standards.
• Basic computer skills and data entry.
• Ability to communicate with patients across age groups.
• Read/write/speak English.
• Familiarity with Radiology software and PACS.
• Commitment to continuing education and licensure up to date.
• Ability to work in a team and adapt to policies.

Responsibilities

• Performs high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams per orders and protocols.
• Verifies patient identity and exam appropriateness; collects clinical history.
• Positions patients and equipment; optimizes images and data.
• Maintains EMR and PACS documentation accurately.
• Explains procedures to patients; ensures comfort and privacy.
• Educates patients about the exam and completes exams promptly.
• Operates imaging equipment safely; uses PPE.
• Follows department protocols; time-out procedures.
• Collaborates with radiologists for appropriate imaging and care continuity.
• Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and equipment safety checked.
• Notifies staff when inventory is low.
• Produces complete ultrasound studies for radiologist review.
• Completes technologist worksheet with findings.
