Here at Fairview, we are looking for an Ultrasound Technologist to join us at our Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury, MN. This is a casual position and will pick up shifts depending on the needs of the department.

- If the majority of your allocated shift hours are worked between 3pm – 11pm, your hours worked in this shift will receive an additional $6.00 per hour, on top of your base rate & shift differentials.
- If the majority of your allocated shift hours are worked between 11pm – 7am, your hours worked in this shift will receive an additional $8.00 per hour, on top of your base rate & shift differentials.

Responsibilities
- Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Performs examinations with technical accuracy and in a timely manner.
- Verifies patient identification and documentation
- Reviews physician order prior to exam or procedure.
- Communicates pertinent information to the appropriate health care professional.
- Achieves quality diagnostic images through accurate patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol.
- Communicates with and educates patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam
- Recognizes structures visualized and understands their significance.
- Accurately produces and records measurements according to protocols. Accurately conveys initial findings and clinical data to radiologists.
- Participates in crafting a culture of patient safety
- Demonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness for facility
- Ensures patient data integrity
- Accurately completes computer functions, edits, scheduling, billing, and status changes in a timely fashion.
- Performs accurate image identification, record preparation, and digital image manipulation and archiving.
- Assembles similar relevant exams and reports.
- Documents initial and ongoing data, interventions, responses/results, or interventions consistent with established policies/procedures/guidelines.
- Participates as an active team member
- Orients and mentors’ new employees and students.
- Participates in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives.
- Assumes responsibility for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for position
- Cleans and maintains rooms and supplies.
- Accepts unique customer service expectations in Imaging
- Accurately operates equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines and according to manufacturers’ Information for Use
- Identifies and responds to equipment problems to ensure equipment is in working order according to Department guidelines.
- Acquires technical proficiency as new technology is introduced into the facility.
- Correctly operates and optimizes the use of equipment and implements downtime procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree from an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - must be current and from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ARDMS registered within 1 year of hire
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year of hospital based experience
- Proficiency in breast, general, interventional, OB and vascular ultrasound preferred
