Job summary

Baptist Health in Kentucky is hiring an RN-CDU for the Full Time First Shift in Hamburg. The CDU provides telemetry level observation care to determine inpatient admission needs, with emphasis on patient comfort, timely diagnostic decisions, and safe discharge planning.

Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, creating care plans, delivering direct care, and supporting quality and leadership within the CDU.

Qualifications

  • Must have active RN license in Kentucky.
  • BLS certification required; must obtain if not yet certified within 30 days of hire.
  • ACLS/PALS/NRP and dysrhythmia training as required by department.

RN-CDU Full Time I First Shift Clinical Decision Unit I Hamburg $15,000 Sign on Bonus for qualified individuals.

The Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) provides telemetry level observation care for selected emergency department patients to determine whether inpatient admission is required. Patients in the CDU typically need extended monitoring, testing, and treatment. The CDU focuses on patient comfort, efficient diagnostic clarification, and timely decisions regarding safe discharge or hospital admission.

Requirements RN-CDU
  • Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.
  • Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
  • Applicants with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor’s degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • If not already certified, must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
  • ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of assignment.
