Job description

Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist

Location: Golden Valley, MN

Shift Type: Days

Hours/Day: 8 hours

Hours/Pay Period: 80 hours per 2-week pay period

Weekend Requirements: None

On-Call Requirements: None

Hourly Rate: $37.49 - $56.23 (based on experience)

Job Description

The Ultrasound Technologist performs high-quality diagnostic ultrasound procedures in a safe, efficient, and compassionate manner to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment planning. This position serves a diverse population, including neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.

The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent clinical skills, sound judgment in emergent situations, and a commitment to patient care and confidentiality. The technologist must interact professionally with physicians, patients, and team members, and use imaging and hospital computer systems appropriately.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

  • Perform accurate ultrasound examinations and procedures
  • Apply critical thinking in assessment and decision-making
  • Recognize and respond to emergency situations appropriately
  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records
  • Assist patients with comfort and care during procedures
  • Clean and restock procedure rooms

Technology & Documentation

  • Utilize imaging and hospital computer systems efficiently
  • Interpret and present preliminary findings when required
  • Maintain documentation for procedures and QA logs

Professional Standards & Compliance

  • Comply with legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards
  • Follow organizational policies, including privacy and code of conduct
  • Report compliance concerns through appropriate channels

Specialized Responsibilities (Heart & Vascular Institute, if applicable)

  • Interpret and communicate critical preliminary findings to providers
  • Identify cases requiring further clinical review
  • Support IAC accreditation efforts and standards compliance
  • Assist in QA data collection and procedural logging

Qualifications

  • Registered or registry-eligible Ultrasound Technologist
  • Current ARDMS certification (or equivalent) preferred
  • BLS certification
  • Experience in a clinical ultrasound setting preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
