Responsibilities

Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices. Provides patient services utilizing ultrasound equipment. Demonstrates knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and pathology. Provides patient care to all age groups to include neonatal, pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics. Communicates effectively with staff and radiologists.

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an AMA approved Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program. Required.
• In lieu of certificate, equivalent experience according to Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC). Required.

Work Experience

• No experience required. Required.
• 1 year of experience. Preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support. Upon Hire Required.
• ARDMS - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Must become registered by the ARDMS within (6) months of employment (180 days). Required.
• Vascular Sonographers must become registered and/or RVT, RVS, RT(S), RT(VS) within (6) months of employment (180 days). Required.
• (BR) ARDMS or ARRT - Breast Sonography. Breast licensure requirement for Breast Ultrasound can be met with registration through ARRT (BS). Required.
• RVT - Registered Vascular Technologist. Preferred.
• RVS - Registered Vascular Sonographer. Preferred.
