Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood, NJ is seeking a day shift, full-time Maternal Fetal Medicine Ultrasound Technician. You will perform high-frequency ultrasound exams, support patient care, and manage imaging workflows across PACS/HIS systems.

The role requires graduation from an accredited Ultrasound Technology Program, ARDMS registration or eligibility with certification within 6 months, and BLS within 14 days of hire, in a collaborative hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology Program.
• Registered or registry eligible by ARDMS or equivalent with certification within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer before direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of ultrasound examinations for maternal fetal medicine and related imaging.
• Transport patients to and from Imaging Services as needed.
• Prepare departmental paperwork, answer phones, and schedule patients.
• Enter and retrieve patient data from PACS and HIS systems.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area.

Get to Know Your Team:

• Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women‘s imaging center, and an ICU.

Responsibilities:

• This position is responsible for performing a variety of specialized technical tasks in Diagnostic Ultrasound utilizing high frequency sounds waves to assist medical and professional personnel in detecting anatomical abnormalities; assisting in the delivery of personalized, professional and quality patient care, internal and external customer service.
• Performance of all Ultrasound examinations, transportation of patients to and from Imaging Services.
• Preparation of all departmental paperwork, answering the department’s telephone, and scheduling patients.
• Entering and retrieving patient information from the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Hospital Information System (HIS).
• Maintaining the work area in a clean and organized manner.

Qualifications:

Job Requirements :

• Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology Program.
• Registered or registry eligible by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or an equivalent.With successful completion of certification within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Previous employment as an Ultrasound Technologist.

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
