Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood, NJ is seeking a full-time Maternal Fetal Medicine Ultrasound Technician for day shifts. You will perform specialized ultrasound exams, provide high-quality patient care, and support imaging services.

Qualifications include graduation from an accredited ultrasound program, ARDMS registration or eligibility, certification within 6 months, and BLS within 14 days of hire. Prior ultrasound technologist experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Preferred: previous employment as an Ultrasound Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Perform specialized ultrasound examinations and assist in patient care.
• Transport patients to and from Imaging Services.
• Prepare departmental paperwork, answer calls, and schedule patients.
• Enter and retrieve patient information from PACS and HIS.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area.

Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.

Responsibilities:

• This position is responsible for performing a variety of specialized technical tasks in Diagnostic Ultrasound utilizing high frequency sounds waves to assist medical and professional personnel in detecting anatomical abnormalities; assisting in the delivery of personalized, professional and quality patient care, internal and external customer service.
• Performance of all Ultrasound examinations, transportation of patients to and from Imaging Services.
• Preparation of all departmental paperwork, answering the department’s telephone, and scheduling patients.
• Entering and retrieving patient information from the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Hospital Information System (HIS).
• Maintaining the work area in a clean and organized manner.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology Program.
• Registered or registry eligible by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or an equivalent.
• With successful completion of certification within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Preferred Job Requirements:Previous employment as an Ultrasound Technologist.
• Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
