Job summary

Intermountain Health Riverton Hospital is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist in Training. This on-the-job training role is for a current ultrasound student preparing for boards within four months, offering hands-on imaging experience.

Under supervision, you will perform imaging exams, maintain safety and quality standards, and develop decision-making and patient care skills while delivering compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Current BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.
• Enrolled in an accredited ultrasound program, actively training.

Responsibilities

• Maintains ARRT or modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions as applicable.
• Verifies patient identity and imaging orders and prepares patients for procedures.
• Performs imaging exams according to department protocols and evaluates images for quality and accuracy.
• Provides compassionate patient care, education, and support throughout the imaging process.
• Adheres to safety standards, including radiation and MRI safety guidelines when applicable.
• Completes imaging studies within established timeframe expectations while maintaining quality patient care.
• Practices proper infection prevention and sterile technique standards.
• Operates imaging equipment and associated computer systems effectively.
• Maintains accurate documentation related to patient care, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions.
• Follows department protocols regarding medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, quality control processes, and equipment issue reporting.
• Collaborates effectively with radiologists, providers, and members of the healthcare team.
