Job summary

Dignity Health - St. John's Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, CA is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist (Sonographer) to perform advanced ultrasound examinations and deliver high-quality diagnostic images.

You will work closely with physicians, explain procedures to patients, ensure comfort and safety, and maintain meticulous records. Requires experience with Abdomen/OB-Gyn, ARDMS credentials, and a commitment to continuing education.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a CAAHEP accredited Sonography program.
• Current with continuing education credits per ARDMS.
• Recent hands-on scanning experience within the last 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound examinations and capture diagnostic-quality images.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Ultrasound Technologist (Sonographer), you will utilize advanced sonographic equipment to record detailed images of blood, organs, tissues, and bodily masses, including unborn fetuses, providing critical visual data for diagnosis and prenatal care. Every day you will directly interact with patients, explaining procedures, answering questions, and preparing them for scans. You will meticulously operate sonographic equipment, adjusting settings and patient positions to ensure clear, diagnostic images. You will monitor and care for patients to ensure their safety and comfort, select and examine images for pathologies, and present preliminary findings to Physicians. To be successful in this role, you will possess excellent patient service and communication skills, sharp eyesight, and meticulous attention to detail. You will demonstrate strong technical proficiency, sound judgment, and advanced decision-making skills to effectively capture and interpret sonographic data, ensuring optimal diagnostic support.

Job Requirements

• Graduate from a CAAHEP accredited Sonography program.
• More than one year experience in Abdomen or OB/Gyn., upon hire and
• Must be current with continuing education units required by the licensing board of the ARDMS and
• Must have recent (within the last 6 months) hands-on scanning experienceeither as an ultrasound student or as asonographer, upon hire and
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, upon hire or
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Breast, upon hire or
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Fetal Echo, upon hire or
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Neurosonology, upon hire or
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Pediatric Sono, upon hire or
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, upon hire or
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Adult Echo, upon hire or
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Fetal Echo, upon hire or

Preferred

• Venous Doppler, Color Doppler, Neurosonography and Interventional Procedures.
• Active member of a major diagnostic professional society
