Job summary

Aurora Health Care, Inc. is seeking a qualified Medical Sonographer to perform general, vascular and cardiac ultrasound studies.

You will review patient history and orders, position patients, acquire high-quality images, label results, and ensure accurate billing documentation within our radiology information system. Candidates should have ARDMS/ARRT credentials, completed an accredited sonography program, and the ability to work independently with strong communication and patient care skills.

Qualifications

• Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Sonography.
• ARDMS/ARRT credentials are expected or obtained within a defined period.
• Ability to review patient history, orders and lab results to guide exams.

Responsibilities

• Operates ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular and/or cardiac studies and differentiates normal from pathologic findings.
• Reviews medical records to obtain clinical information and ensures exam accuracy with physician orders.
• Positions patient and selects transducer and factors to obtain accurate images; maintains patient safety and comfort.
• Labels images with patient name, MRU number, and location/position for accurate documentation.
• Documents billing codes and enters data into the radiology information system to ensure correct charges and regulatory compliance.
