Job summary

Aurora Health Care Southern Lakes, Inc. seeks a skilled Medical Sonographer to perform general, vascular, and cardiac ultrasound studies.

You will review patient records, orders, and histories to ensure accurate exams, and position patients, adjust transducers and factors to produce high-quality images. You will label images correctly, enter data into the radiology information system, and ensure proper billing codes.

Qualifications

• Advanced training beyond high school in an accredited Sonography program.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Operate ultrasound equipment for general, vascular and/or cardiac studies and distinguish normal from pathologic findings.
• Review medical records, orders, and patient information to ensure exam accuracy.
• Position patient, select transducer and adjust technical factors for quality images.
• Identify, record, and adapt procedures based on anatomy and diagnostic information.
• Label images with patient name, MRU, and scan location.
• Document study details in RIS and code procedures for charges.
• Identify equipment issues and evaluate new products for potential use.
• Analyze sonograms and communicate findings to the physician.
