Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare seeks a skilled Ultrasonographer to prepare patients and perform routine ultrasound procedures under the supervision of a Radiologist. You will produce high quality images and present them with appropriate comparison studies for interpretation.

The role requires completion of an accredited ultrasound program or cross-training, BLS certification, and ARDMS/ARRT registration with timelines.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited ultrasound program or cross-training path.
• BLS certification required.
• ARDMS (AB/OB-GYN/RVT) or ARRT (S) required with registry timelines.
• Registry in Abdomen (AB) and Pediatric Sonography (PS) preferred.
• Three years relevant experience preferred.
• Experience with EMR, Radiology and information systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations with verified orders and histories.
• Perform ultrasound exams on diverse patient groups and maintain competency.
• Adhere to policies to ensure safe, quality patient care and operations.
• Maintain equipment and infection control standards; monitor supplies.
• Supervise and support ultrasound students and cross-training programs.
• Document procedures and support billing with accurate data.
• Participate in department performance improvement activities.
