Job summary

UMC Health System in Texas is seeking an Ultrasongrapher to perform diagnostic sonography procedures. You will operate ultrasound equipment, communicate results, and collaborate with radiologists.

The role requires graduation from an accredited school of Sonography and at least one year of ultrasound experience, with BLS certification and attainment of a registry within 12 months. Willingness to train students and support scheduling and other radiology tasks.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Sonography.
• +1 year of hospital or clinic experience in ultrasound.
• BLS Certified and must obtain at least one registry within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Independently operate sonographic equipment and communicate the results of diagnostic examinations using sonography.
• Review patient charts and results of previous diagnostic studies and record patient’s personal and medical history prior to performing examinations.
• Interview patient and explain procedure(s), forms, potential complications, and time required; answer patient questions.
• Assist in scheduling patients for ultrasound studies.
• Assist physicians in performance of other examinations such as biopsies, thoracenteses, etc.
• Assist in the training of student sonographers.
• Correctly charge all examinations according to CPT definitions in a timely manner.
• All other duties assigned to Radiology Oncology and Imaging services.
