Job summary

Olmsted Medical Center in Rochester, Minnesota offers a Diagnostic Sonography opportunity where you confirm orders, review patient history, and obtain diagnostic images across outpatient, inpatient, ER, OR and portable settings, using judgment to interpret exams and provide preliminary findings to the radiologist.

Qualified candidates will have an accredited Sonography program, ARDMS, BLS, and strong anatomy knowledge; benefits include Medical Insurance, PTO, Vision, Life Insurance, Tuition

Qualifications

• Completion of an accrediting Diagnostic Sonography Program.
• ARDMS certification in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• BLS certification.
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
• Ability to recognize subtle differences between healthy and pathological areas.

Responsibilities

• Takes initiative to confirm orders are accurate.
• Reviews patient history for necessary information (lab results, surgeries, etc.).
• Performs difficult manipulative skills to obtain diagnostic images on all patients (outpatient, inpatient, ER, OR, and portable).
• Uses independent judgment to evaluate images and related data to interpret exams and provides preliminary findings to the radiologist.
• Performs invasive procedures.
• Takes call on a rotating basis.
• Other duties as assigned.
