Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school or completion of an accredited Ultrasound/Sonography program.
• Successful completion of ARDMS SPI examination prior to your date of hire.
• Current ARDMS registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)

Responsibilities

• Prepare and examine patients for ultrasound exams, verifying identity and medical history.
• Operate and adjust ultrasound equipment and ensure safety of patients and staff.
• Explain exam procedures to patients and staff, answer questions not related to diagnosis.
• Develop and modify procedure plans based on health status and history, using professional judgment.
• Analyze sonographic findings to support physician-directed patient care and diagnoses.
• Notify providers when immediate medical attention is needed and assess patient status before discharge.
• Record diagnostic images and communicate preliminary findings to the radiologist.
• Maintain supplies and keep a clean, safe work environment.
• Assist in orienting and mentoring new ultrasound personnel.
• Answer phones, schedule exams, and arrange transportation as needed.
