Job summary

The Mount Sinai Health System is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform and assist in ultrasound examinations, support radiologists, and maintain ultrasound equipment. You will prepare patients, verify identity, and optimize imaging while adhering to QA/QC and infection control standards.

Responsibilities include documenting findings, guiding exams, and assisting during procedures such as biopsies, with accurate labeling and timely PACS transmission.

Qualifications

• Associates degree (AA) or equivalent from a college or technical school.
• 0-2 years of experience as Ultrasound Technician.
• SPI Certification and ARDMS RVT certification must be completed within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and examines patients for ultrasound exams and verifies identity.
• Explains procedures to patients and answers questions related to the exam.
• Develops and adjusts procedure plans based on health history and age/gender.
• Records images and notes in Epic Radiant and transmits to PACS promptly.
• Maintains ultrasound room and equipment cleanliness and supplies.
• Assists physicians during procedures (e.g., biopsies) and ensures safety.
• Ensures QA/QC and infection control compliance.
