Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services seeks an Ultrasound Clinical Support Student to join our Radiology team in Albuquerque, NM. You will support technologists and clinicians, perform a variety of clinical and clerical duties under supervision, and help ensure accurate imaging orders and proper pre-procedure preparation.

The role provides hands-on learning in a clinical setting, with opportunities for tuition reimbursement, certification support, and access to Epic/PACS workflows.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, or GED equivalent.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Actively enrolled as a student in an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program in preparation of registry (ARRT/ARDMS).

Responsibilities

• Ensure imaging orders are correct and available for technologist review.
• Review scheduled procedures to verify pre-procedure labs are ordered before exams.
• Answer calls promptly and record accurate messages.
• Transcribe, schedule, and reschedule patient examinations with prep information.
• Assist imaging technologist and radiologist by contacting referring providers.
• Provide copies of imaging records and upload images in PACS per HIPAA rules.
• Utilize Epic, RIS, and PACS software for data entry and procedures.
• Transport patients between department and pickup areas.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain examination rooms and waiting areas.
• Obtain lab results and check for allergies/implants prior to exams.
• Maintain department policies, QA, safety.
• Check stock of supplies for exam rooms.
• Participate in ongoing education and training events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
