Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque, NM is seeking an Ultrasound Technician to perform diagnostic ultrasound exams and deliver high-quality images to the attending physician. This part-time role offers growth opportunities and benefits.

The position requires ARDMS certification within one year, NM licensure, and BLS. You will educate patients, coordinate with RIS/HIS and PACS, and support physicians during procedures while maintaining sterile technique.

Qualifications

• Registered Diagnostic Med Sonographer (ARDMS) certification within one year of hire.
• New Mexico State Licensure (DMS-NM) required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Two years of radiology ultrasound coursework preferred; associate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams and transmit images to PACS.
• Schedule ultrasound cases and coordinate with other patient exams.
• Educate patients before scanning and document vitals and follow-up.
• Assist physicians in procedures such as biopsies and maintain sterile technique.

Maintains records of exam data and other pertinent information on patients. Uses Radiology Information System, hospital information systems as required.Assists physician in such procedures as needle biopsies, amniocentesis, renal biopsies, etc. Scans the patient mark the patient's body, determine the angle for puncture, and assist as necessary. Has knowledge of and maintains sterile technique.Maintains established hospital radiology and ultrasound policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
