Herrmann Ultrasonics Inc. in Bartlett, IL is seeking an Applications Engineer for the PLASTICS division to work on ultrasonic welding applications for plastics, packaging materials, nonwovens and metals.

Join a global team delivering innovative ultrasonic joining solutions. You will plan and document application development projects, provide technical expertise to customers, assist with trainings, execute factory and site acceptance testing, and support customers on-site and remotely.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in mechanical and structural engineering.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; Associates considered with the right experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude skills.
• 3D CAD experience preferred.
• Creative problem solving mindset.
• Minimum one year of relevant engineering experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills and motivation to build long-term relationships with customers and colleagues.
• Knowledge of the manufacturing and automation machine industry.

Responsibilities

• Planning and documentation of Ultrasonic Welding Application development projects.
• Provide technical expertise to customers.
• Assist with technical trainings and customer seminars.
• Execute Factory Acceptance Testing, Site Acceptance Testing and customer personnel training.
• Provide technical support to customers including phone/email support, on-site, and in-house customer visits.
• Assume emergency and stand-by services including provision of shipping and/or delivery of spare parts.
