Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a UPW-IWT Technician to operate and maintain ultrapure water and industrial wastewater systems, including RO, ion exchange, and ultrafiltration. This role supports a 24/7 operations team, troubleshoots complex issues, and implements process improvements.

You will work across equipment rooms, chemical areas, and cleanroom manufacturing spaces, mentoring junior technicians and ensuring safe, efficient plant performance.

Qualifications

• 2 years of college/technical school or equivalent related experience.
• Semiconductor or high-volume manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience with Siemens, FMCS and Honeywell SCADA systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor equipment and processes; propose improvements to reliability and performance.
• Perform rounds and readings; access UPW/IWT systems and cleanroom areas.
• Respond to equipment failures; perform initial troubleshooting to restore operations.
• Independently adjust equipment and processes to return to normal operation.
• Perform ion exchange regenerations and RO cleans.
• Assist in consumable replacements (filters, resins, RO membranes).
• Mentor and train junior technicians on procedures.
• Lead improvement projects beyond daily duties to enhance throughput.
