Job summary

UL Solutions in Northbrook, IL seeks a test and certification professional to evaluate fire alarm, access control, and smoke detection systems to UL standards. Hybrid role with three days in the office, coordinating testing activities and guiding clients through project scopes and costs.

You will work directly with clients, manage certification projects, and provide technical guidance to ensure timely completion while aligning with UL requirements and company procedures.

Qualifications

• University degree in Electrical engineering.
• Prior engineering experience preferred.
• Experience with fire and smoke detection, access control, and fire alarm control panels (preferred).
• Customer-facing experience required.
• Ability to use MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Determine project scope and preliminary plan of investigation, including cost, time, and sample requirements.
• Travel to client sites to conduct or witness tests and promote services.
• Coordinate testing activities and communicate with clients on costs, dates, and samples.
• Provide technical assistance and establish test programs by reviewing data and manufacturer information.
• Coordinate laboratory activities and administrative aspects of project management.
• Prepare reports and communicate project status to clients.
