Job summary

BorgWarner is seeking an UL Certification Engineer to lead certification activities for battery energy storage systems, guiding compliance from concept to commercialization. You will work closely with engineering, quality, product management, and third-party labs to ensure safe, compliant launches.

Required are a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years in certification or functional safety, with UL/TÜV experience and strong documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field is required.
• 5+ years of experience in product certification, compliance engineering, or functional safety.
• Experience working with UL, TÜV or other certification bodies.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and embedded controls.
• Experience developing certification documentation and compliance packages.

Responsibilities

• Lead certification activities for battery and energy storage products with plans and roadmaps.
• Act as liaison with UL, TÜV and other certification bodies.
• Translate standards into engineering and compliance requirements.
• Integrate compliance and safety requirements into product development.
• Develop and maintain certification documentation and traceability records.
• Coordinate testing activities, audits, and resolution of findings.
• Support safety analyses and risk assessments for electrical, electronic, and software systems.
• Provide guidance on product compliance to cross-functional teams.
• Support audits and certification readiness across programs.
