Job Description:

Xenith Solutions is seeking a UI/UX Designer with experience in agile methodologies to support our Customs and Border Protection (CBP) team in Northern Virginia. Initially remote, with plans to return to Ashburn, VA.

Join our team supporting Agile Software Development for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As a Scrum team member, you will design and develop UI/UX for software projects, collaborating closely with analysts, developers, stakeholders, and end users.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing software capabilities for legacy and modern systems with minimal oversight
• Leading cohesive and standardized UI/UX design across applications
• Collaborating with creative, UX, visual, development teams, and clients
• Creating wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to communicate ideas
• Establishing style guides and design standards
• Working with functional teams to assess feasibility and improve designs
• Ensuring quality and timeliness of deliverables
• Mentoring junior team members

Qualifications:

Required:

• U.S. Citizen with ability to pass background checks (felony, drug, misconduct)
• Degree in Interactive Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, or Human Factors
• 3+ years of experience in visual or interaction design
• Experience creating intuitive, user-centered web applications
• Knowledge of responsive and mobile-first design
• Experience with design tools (Sketch, Invision, XD)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Desired:

• Design Thinking certifications
• Experience with web accessibility standards (Section 508)
• Knowledge of information architecture
• Familiarity with HTML, Angular, CSS, JavaScript
