Job summary

The Texas Workforce Commission is seeking a Customer Services Representative II to handle routine UI-related inquiries and claim processing from our McAllen, TX area offices. You will provide courteous service by telephone and assist claimants with unemployment benefits information, ensuring accurate data entry and adherence to program rules.

Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, professional telephone etiquette, and the ability to work independently within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience in customer service, clerical, call center, or administrative support work.
• Knowledge or experience in government benefits or other benefits/insurance programs.
• Experience handling applications and eligibility determinations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Bilingual English and Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process UI claims over the phone and data entry into benefit systems.
• Respond to and resolve routine UI inquiries from inbound calls and online forms.
• Provide accurate information to claimants about UI provisions, rules, and processes.
• Document all customer contacts and accurately process documents.
• Research information in benefit systems to address inquiries.
