Job summary

The Maryland Department of Labor, Division of Unemployment Insurance, seeks a UI Professional V Benefits-Supervisor to lead the Benefits Payment Control Unit and oversee investigations, overpayments and recoveries in Baltimore.

The role requires developing policies, training staff, and ensuring compliance with USDOL guidelines while protecting UI funds and data. On-site position at 100 S Charles Street.

Qualifications

• Eight years of experience in a public/private agency rendering/determining eligibility for a Human Service Program, or four years in administrative/professional work plus four years in eligibility for a Human Service Program or fraud investigations.
• Bachelor's degree substitution and four years of related experience may be substituted for the required experience.
• Graduate-level education may substitute for experience at 30 credits per year.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead a unit of UI Professionals/Associates handling claims and non-monetary determinations.
• Provide training and guidance on policies, procedures, and programs to ensure efficiency.
• Contribute to metrics reports for leadership and ensure timely payments.
• Coach staff to achieve performance goals and manage workload for timely benefits.
• Ensure quality customer service for claimants, vendors, and employers.
• Train new staff on Beacon processes and procedures.
