Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to manage the enterprise unified communications infrastructure, including IP telephony, voice gateways, messaging, and contact center technologies. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination.
• Cisco Voice CCENT/CCT certs or equivalent desirable.
• Solid understanding of telephony, TDM, VOIP, voice gateways IP, networking protocols.
• Degree substitution via certification/experience allowed.

Responsibilities

• Provision unified communications services.
• Provision traditional analog and VOIP services.
• Provide end-user telephony support.
• Perform moves, adds and changes.
• Configure, install and troubleshoot digital and analog phone sets.
• Create and configure voice mailbox.
• Support Call Center telephony infrastructure and services.
• Provide call detail reports as requested.
• Build and configure enterprise UC systems and infrastructure.
• Adhere to established design & configuration standards.
• Support for assigned projects.
• Collaborate with staff on projects.
• Meet schedules and timelines.
• Ensure solutions meet project deliverables and standards.
• Operational support for UC infrastructure and related technologies.
• Proactive management and monitoring of infrastructure and systems.
• Schedule/perform maintenance for optimal operation and latest stable code.
• Ongoing assessment and enhancements of infrastructure.
• Routine capacity planning.
• Create/maintain network documentation & diagrams.
• Maintain hardware inventories.
• Build knowledge of supported systems.
• Provide after-hours on-call coverage.
• Travel to Brown University Health locations required.
• Provide training to staff as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
